What struck us about this female, other than her name, was the great lock structure and luster of her fiber as well as her colored background. Dolly is an easy going female and when she is pregnant that mild temperament means a lot. She is an attentive and protective mother and produces lots of milk. She has excellent conformation and a proud presence to go along with her fabulous, dense fiber. All Dolled Up would be an asset to anyone’s breeding program. Her first two crias were female and one was grey and one was fawn, so she has proven that she can deliver color ... so, can you imagine what Merlin might throw for you?

Are you looking to take your breeding program to the next level? You need a highly valued foundation female, like Dew Drop, that has the ability to produce stunning Suris. She is a total package with regards to pedigree and fiber quality. Dew Drop or DD as we call her, holds her head high and is an erect female with a proud stance. Her fiber has that greasy feel and a luster that is hard to come by. DD's first cria was born right on schedule; a blinding white with fawn butt male cria who is very active, alert and making fast friends with all the females in our pasture. Dew Drop delivered a dark brown Captain Morgan Suri male on September 15. This male cria looks a lot like Captain but sports a partially white face. His fiber is gorgeous and we expect great things from him. |

service sire: Snowmass Nautilus, D Brown, ARI# 831264
location: Friendly Farm Alpacas, Chico, CA | |
|
This girl is a lovely female that has produced her first cria out of Snowmass Nautilus in 2007 ... a beautiful, fawn male, we've named AVS Ambush. Fuegina has impeccable conformation and a strong proud presence. Versatility is a trait we value in our alpacas, so a female that can produce either a colored or white cria has added value. Since Fuegina's dam is dark brown and her sire is medium silver grey, we expect that Fuegina will continue to produce a colored, possibly GREY cria. Fuegina has been rebred in June 2007 to Snowmass Nautilus (owned by Patagonia and Latah Creek). Nautilus has the pedigree to match his incredible show record. His dam, Gillian Rose, is an Inca daughter and a full sister to LCA Luster King and his sire is the renowned MacGyver. Many of his cria have been ribbon winners and color champions, including LCA Berreta and LCA Winchester. Breedings to Snowmass Nautilus are closed so this is an excellent opportunity to buy into his lineage.

What a beautiful alpaca with a lovely temperament. This girl is a great mom and has proven that she can produce quality crias. So far she has produced two cria both of which are the color of the sire. It will be very interesting to see if this trend continues. Caramel Ice just shimmers with luster. We believe in the power of the dam to influence the outcome of their produce and she is an excellent example of a quality dam. Her conformation is just beautiful to behold. She has great presence and walks with pride, with her head up and ears alert.
In 2006, Caramel Ice delivered her first cria, a grey female, named AVS Greysee. Greysee is a real beauty with awesome lock structure and incredible luster that is so unusual for grey alpacas. Greysee was sold at the 2007 AOBA Auction to Safe Haven Farms in Connecticut.
Ice is being rebred to Chief Grey Ghost, owned by Wind Walker Ranch in Michigan. Caramel Ice has produced grey before, so we're betting she can do it again! |

Once the apple of her mother's eye, Kashmiri just delivered her own cria. Kashmiri has personality to spare, beautiful true black fiber and takes charge of the other crias whenever she can get away with it. Kashmiri was bred to the very successful Suri herdsire, Snowmass Nautilus and just delivered a dark brown male in May. Nautilus' cria have done extremely well in the show ring and we expect that Kashmiri's cria will do well too. Whether her cria is male or female, we expect it to be a winning cria!

Celeste comes from a wonderful background and although medium fawn on the outside she has almost black skin. Celeste is one of the nicest yearling Suri females we've seen. She has very tight pencil locks and has very interesting coloration with her fawn fiber and dark (almost black) skin with black gums & nails. She has a very inquisitive personality, a calm temperament & is always first to greet us in the field. After delivering an awesome Ice Dancer male cria the first time around, we are rebreeding Celeste to the him. He is owned by Jerry & Deb French of Eagle Valley Alpacas. Ice Dancer has already proven himself with some truly gorgeous crias ... and they come in all different colors too. We are really excited about this rematch.

Romika is sure to bring a smile to your face. She's got great Suri face with a patch of white on her forehead and she always looks like she's pleased with herself. She is the product of Captain Morgan and Dolly and has above average density and consistently locked fiber. Romika's body condition is excellent and she is an exceptional size for her age. She even has a cute little beauty mark in the fiber of her left cheek. In 2005 she had a stunning black female Suri cria named Kashmiri (see below). Then she was bred back to our Captain Morgan and she delivered a beautiful, true black male cria in June 2006 right on her scheduled due date. Cactus is a medium brown female. Cactus' birth weight was 14.65 pounds and her IgG was 1,746. Cactus has a nice straight back and legs with dense fiber but is soft and silky to the touch. Cactus will be ready to breed to one of Ameripaca's premier studs in the Spring of 2007. Cactus was sired by Pappa Gallo, a gray and fawn appaloosa who won 1st place in his class and 1st place breeder's best at the 2003 AOBA National Show. Cactus' dam, Charly, is a 10-year old, medium fawn, full Peruvian female who has been an excellent producer for Ameripaca. Her 1999 cria, Piccadilly, is an outstanding grey and black colored suri female. Her fleece won 1st place at the 2003 Ohio Alpacafest. Charly's 2002 cria Charly's Angel is a grey appaloosa suri female who was sold at the 2002 Breeder's Choice Auction for $40,000. With Chardonay we think we have a wonderful new addition to our herd. She has Bruxo, Cheif Qualchan, Starbuck and Uribe in her background AND she has been bred to LCA Accoyo Rico for a May 2008 cria. Latah Creek's Rico has an outstanding show record which really speaks volumes about him. His first crias have hit the ground in 2007 and they are magnificent. Check out one of his first cria, a female names AVS Rico's Bobby Sox at our eastern locaton. Chardonay delivered her first cria in May 2007 ... a beautiful, fawn, female Inca cria named Destinee. Since breedings to Inca have been closed, we are extremely pleased and fortunate to have an Inca female cria. Chardonay's fleece exhibits a slick handle in a highly lustrous apricot color. Her second fleece exhibited excellent length, density and lock formation. |

We were very excited to learn that Greysee had been selected to be in the AOBA National Auction to be held in May 2007. It's hard to find words to describe this beauty. She has gorgeous fiber and excellent conformation. You gotta give credit to both the dam & sire for this creation. It really pays off to combine a quality dam with quality sires. It will be an interesting show season in 2007. Greysee was sold with a breeding to any one of our Suri Herdsires! And, they selected Captain Morgan ... what a combination!!

This spunky little gal arrived almost 3 weeks early. Mirada is extremely active and curious. Her dam, Dolly, is producing LOTS of milk, so Mirada's weight gain has been excellent. When we went to check Mirada's fiber color and crosscheck it with the ARI color chart, we were totally surprised. Mirada's color had changed from a medium brown copper color to a medium to dark ROSE GREY color!! It turns out that her sire, Red Lightening, has produced 2 other grey crias. Pictures of Mirada make her look like she is a copper brown color from far away, but once you dig into her dense, locking fiber she is a rose grey, from her neck to her tail. It's not often we can say we look forward to shearing off a Suri's beautiful fiber, but in Mirada's case she is a gorgeous rose grey color.
