Malian army says it foiled attack on military camp, ‘neutralized 13 terrorists
‘Infiltration attempt by terrorist fighters into Timbuktu military camp thwarted, situation ‘under control, says Malian Armed Forces

ISTANBUL
The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) on Monday said it thwarted an “infiltration attempt by terrorist fighters” into the Timbuktu military camp in northern Mali.
Thirteen terrorists were “neutralized,” and weapons, vehicles and various items were seized, the army said in a statement.
It said the situation was “under control” and search operations were ongoing across Timbuktu.
The statement did not name the terrorist group responsible, but both ISIS (Daesh) and al-Qaeda-linked militants have previously carried out attacks in the region.
This came a day after a terrorist attack targeted the Boulkessi military base in the central region of Douentza.
