Borges eliminates No. 7 seed Ruud in round 2 of French Open
Ruud wins 1st set 6-2 against Borges, but lost next sets 4-6, 1-6, 0-6

Casper Ruud, the No. 7 seed in the men's singles, was eliminated by Portuguese Nuno Borges on Wednesday in the second round of the 2025 French Open in Paris.
The second-round matches were played in the morning session on day 4 of the second Grand Slam tennis tournament of the season.
Norwegian Ruud, who reached the final of the French Open in 2022 and 2023, won the first set 6-2 against Borges, but lost the next sets 4-6, 1-6 and 0-6.
Meanwhile, Italian Jasmine Paolini, the 2024 French Open women's singles finalist, beat Australian racket Ajla Tomljanovic 2-0 in straight sets 6-3 and 6-3 to advance.
China's Qinwen Zheng won 2-0 against Colombia's Emiliana Arango in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
