Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 7.4% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 965,971 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,348 megawatt-hours at 4 p.m. local time (1300 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,001 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 957,148 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a rise of about 7.4% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for 24% of total generation, while hydroelectricity plants and wind plants contributed 14% and 13.9%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,125 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 15,970 megawatt-hours.
