Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 11.9% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 826,048 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 39,952 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,407 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 824,184 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 11.1% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for 22% of total generation, while wind and solar power plants contributed 17.7% and 15.6%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 11,231 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 12,905 megawatt-hours.
